Proceso paso a paso

The application is processed by the Large Companies and Strategic Sectors Unit (UGE-CE), online and with national validity; the company or the professional files it. The visa is then collected at the consulate.

Obtain a qualified job offer
Secure a contract with a Spanish employer offering a minimum gross annual salary of €46,080 for a highly qualified position.

Employer submits the authorisation application
The employer files the application with the Government Delegation (Delegación de Gobierno), including the employment contract, justification for the position, and company documentation.

Decision
Decision issued within 1–3 months. Failure to respond within the deadline is deemed a refusal (negative administrative silence).

Apply for the visa at the consulate
With a favourable decision, the professional applies for the visa at the Spanish consulate in their home country.

Entry into Spain, Social Security registration and TIE
Enter Spain. The employer registers the worker with the Social Security system. The worker must apply for the TIE (Foreigner Identity Card) within 1 month. Fee: €16.08.

Errores que llevan a la denegación

⚠️ Employment contract with a salary below €46,080/year gross

Consecuencia: Automatic refusal

Solución: Negotiate a salary that meets the minimum requirement with the employer. The salary must be gross annual, not net.

⚠️ University degree without official recognition

Consecuencia: Refusal or delay

Solución: Begin the degree recognition process with the Ministry of Education as soon as possible. The process can take 6–12 months.

⚠️ Contract for a position that does not require high qualifications

Consecuencia: Refusal for failing to meet the professional qualification requirement

Solución: The position must require a higher education qualification. Administrative, sales, or low-skilled roles are not eligible.
